We just pressed cider with our dear neighbors tonight.
We live on an orchard and it is just old enough to give us apples to sell and some left over to press.
The weather was cold and rain was threatening to fall.
We started a bonfire and the kids ran wild playing all sorts of games, helping to press the apples at times, and tasting the cider as often as they were allowed.
We discussed life, chopped apples, laughed and just plain enjoyed the moment.
Then we all sat down together and ate some yummy home-made soup and fresh, warm-from-the-oven, sourdough bread.
I just don’t know if it gets much better than that!
We didn’t really plan it, other than I needed to borrow their press.
As a thank you I had made soup and it just so happened that they had bread in the oven.
My heart and tummy are full! Moral of the story? Go and borrow something from someone! Ha!
