Hygge Retreat at Red Hen Farm!

Hygge is a quality of coziness that makes a person feel content and comfortable. It’s also often used as an adjective meaning “cozy or comfortable.” -Merriam-Webster

I am of Norwegian descent and I grew up with this concept of cozy in every aspect of my life.  I am the layering queen because I always want, need, to be warm and cozy.  Every fall, winter or spring adventure of hiking, biking, skiing, running, anything, should really end with a warm beverage and tasty treat.  And that treat should be enjoyed, preferably in front of the fire or tucked in at a sweet little bakery, cafe or bar.  And every meal in these dark days should be graced with candles.  It is the season of blankets on every chair, books at the ready and games/movies galore.

But it isn’t just that, the concept of Hygge is deeper than that.  It is essential for staying positive.  It is taking a sun-deprived people and helping them to, not just survive the dark months but, thrive.  There is really good science and excellent practices to be learned surrounding the practice of Hygge.  So sign up and come on over to Red Hen Farm and Orchard and get your Hygge Retreat on!
