Monday morning’s weekly challenge!

Okay folks! Every Monday, I will post a weekly challenge to help you enjoy your day-to-day on a deeper level. These are tools and ways of being that help to fend off burn out, lonliness, sadness and the ho-hum. We can live well, with balance and JOY, we really can! So…

I will attempt to make it interesting and fun as well as beneficial to your wild and wonderful life. So to begin at the beginning… Everyone needs to find/purchase/make a gratitude journal. I would love to see pictures if you could share. It can be fancy or hand-me-down, doesn’t matter, as long as you have blank pages on which to write.

So, once you have the journal your challenge is to write in it everyday (or as often as you can!). The research is clear that gratitude is a profound actor in enhancing our overall attitude on life. It helps us to look for the positive and to train our brains out of it’s natural negative bias. It makes us search for what is good and worthwhile in our daily living and it helps us to revel in that goodness.

In order to get the most out of this practice it is important to be detailed and specific in the description of why you are thankful for this reality/item/person/situation. Here is my example. (It can be silly or profound.)

I am so grateful for new socks. I specifically love when the socks are thick and warm. I love when I can find colorful, zany socks. Lastly, I love the feel when I put them on and they give me a sweet cushion and a feeling of coziness. Not only am I thankful, I feel lucky to be able to have warm, clean, cosy socks.

So, go for it. Morning is a good time so that you begin your day feeling thankful and positive. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
