Merry Christmas! Christmas candle, paper stars, pine cones, scissors on rustic wood. Scandi hygge

Where did hygge come from?

Hygge is originally from Norway but around the mid-20th century, the Danish borrowed the word.  The word in both cultures stands for an ancient Nordic concept.  The concept of creating a cozy and comfortable surrounding that invokes an inner sense of contentment or well-being.

It is about candles, a fire, gathering friends and family, sharing food.  It includes unplugging and leaving the hectic world behind.  Hygge is putting on your most comfortable pants (Hyggebukser), your fuzzy slippers and enjoying the company of others playing games, talking, watching a movie and eating good food!

Come and get your Hygge on at Red Hen with Relationship and Well-Being Life Coach Julie Engh Peters!
