The Science of Mindfulness is quite impressive. It doesn’t take a daily practice much longer than 5 minutes to begin to benefit. A longer practice is even better, but in just 5 minutes we are able to create fabulous benefits for our bodies and our minds. We have the power to take ourselves out of fight or flight and into a creative, thoughtful brain space. We have the power to bring our heart rates and blood pressure down and oxygenate our brains. Further, through specific mindfulness practices, we can actually grow our brains in certain areas. We can grow the ability to focus and sustain focus, awareness and compassion, grit and gratitude. It is all in our capabilities, it just takes practice. Freedom, self command, the ability to choose how we show up. Pretty awesome.
